Fillings
To make the original TAKO-yaki
-Tako (Squid)
-Green Onions
-天かす(Tenkasu-Crunchy Fried-Tempura Batter)
To make PIZZA-yaki (Yes, you have seen correctly...PIZZA!!!) This filling is great for those who don't want any seafood.
-Pepperoni
-Cheese (your choice, we used pepper jack and cheddar)
-Mushrooms
-Tomato Paste
TIP: We filled a food syringe (I know sounds scary lol) and injected the pizza-yaki balls after they were done cooking to prevent the balls from falling apart/over filling when cooking. I am sure, however, with a small amount of tomato paste inside, it should be fine.
Others:
-Crab
-Poke (Hawaiian Fish Salad XD) or Regular Sashimi (Raw fish) WARNING: They get cooked!
-Hot Dog
Toppings
*Some of the things we used for ours, pick and choose to your liking and the kind of yaki balls.
-Red Ginger (Yes, more ginger the better!)
-Mayo
-Green Onions
And thanks to my good friend for buying and letting us try this new topping...
-Ume Paste (I am a ume lover myself, and I could not believe I had not tried this sooner)

DON'T JUST COOK! PLAY A GAME TOO!
This game is called "Yaki-Roulette" It's a little game my friends and I came up with.
-First of all, make the most ridiculous yaki ball with the ingredients you have; put the tako (octopus) with some pepperoni, add in fish, make one yaki ball with nothing but red ginger etc. You get the gist.
-Then make "regular" yaki balls and place your "ridiculous" ball in amongst the regular ones, top it, then begin eating. The goal, of course, is to NOT be the one stuck eating yours and your friends yaki-creation XD
Ideas? Well here are some ridiculous fillings we did...
-Tako, Ume, Pepperoni, and Cheese
-Chocolate, Tako, Cheese
-Red Ginger, Cheese, Hot Dog, Tako (This one was actually good haha)
